In December, Professor Isa Orvieto held the first workshop at the "Scuola di Perfezionamento," a five-year project aimed to provide K-12 teachers of Italian with an opportunity to explore the subtleties of modern Italian while deepening the knowledge of Italian culture and civilization. In addition to Emmanuel Collge, five universities are partners in this project sponsored by the Italian Consulate of Boston. They are Northeastern University, Brandeis, UMass Boston and Salem University.
The third edition of the travel course TODAY'S ITALY: A JOURNEY THROUGH LITERATURE, CINEMA AND EVERYDAY LIFE will occur in the summer of 2017. The course includes three weeks in Milan at the prestigious Università Cattolica, which is located in the city center the UCSC campus. The campus is within walking distance of many of Milan's historical, cultural and religious sites, including the Duomo, Santa Maria delle Grazie (Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper), Castello Sforzesco and many more.
