SET in the City

The Center for Science Education's SET in the City program brings high school girls to Emmanuel's campus to inspire them to pursue careers in science fields.

In partnership with the Boston Area Girls in STEM Collaborative, Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) in the City brings high school girls to Emmanuel's science facilities with Emmanuel's education and science faculty and students, as well as Merck scientists, to inspire and attract them to pursue careers in STEM fields.

The program allows students to serve as role models and mentors for secondary girls and for faculty to provide a context for communicating the theory, practice and utility of science in society.

"My experience for the past two years at SET in the City has been amazing! Through simple lab activities, it is easy to reach out to students and hopefully influence future scientists to come. With compassion and a true passion for what we do, my fellow students and I have a great time conducting the activities and learning about a great group of girls!"
