Can the small action of recycling more at Emmanuel have a major impact? Here are some facts and statistics to help make the argument.

Paper
Recycling one ton of paper saves enough energy to power the average American home for six months, saves 7,000 gallons of water and 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space AND reduces greenhouse gas emissions by one metric ton of carbon equivalent (MTCE).

Plastic
Every pound of recycled PET used in place of virgin material reduces energy use in plastic production by 84% and greenhouse gas emissions by 71%.
