What makes Emmanuel different from other colleges?
Stepping on this campus for the first time you get the immediate sense that this is a community. Despite being in Boston, you get the feel of the small New England campus in both it's physical presence and the kind nature of the staff, faculty and students. You can walk down the hall and get a smile and a greeting from just about anyone.
What is one Boston activity you recommend for students?
I have always recommended that students check out the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. It is a quirky reflection of its namesake and her passion for the arts. It has the added benefit of basically being a next door neighbor.
What tips do you have for students when it comes to financial aid and/or payment options?
The financial side of your education (just like personal/household finances) can feel overwhelming. While it is natural to want to sidestep those concerns and focus on something else, it is in your best interest to stay engaged with what is on your student account. Timely responses for information and staying on top of your account will lead to quicker solutions and prevent delays and restrictions in the future.
What do you like most about working in the OSFS?
I have always enjoyed working with students and their families and having a relationship that lasts over the student's academic career. Much like I always rush over to a tourist pouring over a map to offer directions, I enjoy being able to help parents and their children navigate through their student account finances.
