What is your favorite thing about Emmanuel College?
I love the fact that it is a beautiful campus, right in the city.
What is your favorite thing to do in Boston?
I love going to the Public Gardens or the Common, or just walking around anywhere in downtown Boston. It is a beautiful, pedestrian-friendly city and there is plenty to do.
What is the one piece of advice you would give prospective students about the college process?
I have a couple pieces of advice. The first piece is to do your homework! Know where you stand within your high school (GPA, rank, etc.), research colleges (so the process will be much easier) and keep your options open. A very wise colleague of mine once pointed out that you will never be more sought after again in your life. It might sound a little funny at first, but it's true. There are over 3,000 colleges in the U.S. alone. Everyone is looking for great students. If your first choice says no to you, I guarantee you that there are other great schools out there that would be a great fit for you-but you just haven't thought about them.
What is the most exciting aspect of working in Admissions?
I love travelling and meeting interesting students. I am also very interested in education. My job gives me a chance to see what kind of job high schools are doing preparing their students, and I also get to see what's going on in higher education.
