Students seeking elementary teacher licen­sure complete a major in liberal studies as well as a major in education. Students seeking secondary teacher licensure com­plete a subject area major in addition to a major in education. Specific subject matter requirements for the Initial License may be obtained from Academic Advising. Students seeking Initial Licensure in Massachusetts must pass the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL).
