Admission Requirements

Detailed Transfer Requirements

International Transfer Students and U.S. Transfer Students Living Overseas

In addition to the admission requirements for all international students, international transfer applicants need to submit official college transcripts, at least one college recommendation letter, and course descriptions for the transfer evaluation process. These documents must be in English or translated into English by a certified translator. Interviews are not required, but are strongly encouraged for transfer students.

Transfer evaluations will be completed upon acceptance to Emmanuel College and after course descriptions for all college courses are received. No transfer credit is given for course work below 2.0 (C). Transfer students are expected to fulfill the regular requirements for the degree and successfully complete half of their academic program at Emmanuel College to receive an Emmanuel degree.

Official College Transcript(s)

An official college transcript must provide yearly scores for all subjects taken by the student, including the most recent semester. College transcripts must be provided for all colleges attended, even if students are not interested in transferring credit to Emmanuel College. All documents must be in English or translated into this language by a certified translator.

Two Letters of Academic Recommendation

Emmanuel College requires two letters of academic recommendation for all applicants. Transfer applicants are required to submit at least one of the two recommendation letter from a college professor. However, we recommend that both letters come from a recent college professor or advisor. Emmanuel does not have a form letter for recommendation letters. However, all recommendation letters should be on official school letterhead, and must be written in English or translated into English by a certified translator. Students may also submit additional recommendation letters from teacher, employers, or friends that may serve to enhance their application to Emmanuel College.

Course Catalog with Course Descriptions

To be considered for transfer credit, international transfer applicants must submit translations of the course content of each of the courses taken at each colleges or universities attended. Students may submit course catalogs if course descriptions are listed in English. We also accepted copies of course descriptions (in English) from course catalogs (to save on shipping costs) or from school websites. Transfer applicants are required to compile course descriptions, as Emmanuel will not accept website links to course descriptions.

Transfer evaluations will only be completed once a student has been accepted to Emmanuel College. No transfer credit is given for courses below 2.0 (C).
