Merit Scholarships for International Students


International Presidential Scholarship - September 2008


Description: Awarded to academically gifted first-year or transfer international students enrolling in Fall 2008.

Amount: Full Tuition*

To be eligible to compete for this scholarship, students must have:

  • 3.7 minimum high school grade point average for both first-year and transfer applicants.
  • 3.5 minimum college grade point average for transfer applicants. All grade point averages will be re-calculated by the International Admissions Committee.
  • For students whose native language is not English: Minimum TOEFL score of 250 on the computer-based exam (CBT), 600 on the paper-based exam (PBT) or 100 on the internet-based exam (iBT).
  • For students whose native language is English: Minimum SAT score of 1350 (V+M) or ACT of 32.
  • The International Information Form and The I-20 Application Package form with an original bank statement documenting a minimum of $40,000.

  • Completed application, credentials, and original financial documentation received or postmarked by January 25, 2008.

* To renew this scholarship, students must be enrolled full-time and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.3.




International Dean's Scholarship - September 2008


Description: Awarded to academically gifted first-year and/or transfer international students enrolling in Fall 2008.

Amount: $15,000

To be eligible to compete for this scholarship, students must have:

  • 3.5 minimum high school grade point average for both first-year and transfer applicants.
  • 3.3 minimum college grade point average for transfer applicants. All grade point averages will be re-calculated by the International Admissions Committee.
  • For students whose native language is not English: Minimum TOEFL score of 213 on the computer-based exam (CBT), 550 on the paper-based exam (PBT) or 80 on the internet-based exam (iBT).
  • For students whose native language is English: Minimum SAT score of 1250 (V+M) or ACT of 30.
  • The International Information Form and The I-20 Application Package form with an original bank statement documenting a minimum of $40,000.
