Applying for Financial Aid

Note: You must be accepted to the College before you can be awarded financial aid. However, you are encouraged to apply for financial aid before receiving notice of your admit status.

To apply for financial aid for the 2013-2014 academic year, the 2013- 2014 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required. The priority filing date is February 15, 2013. Emmanuel College does not require the CSS/Financial Aid Profile. If additional information is needed, our office will notify you.

In order to complete the 2013-2014 FAFSA online, which is available after January 1, 2013, both student and parent require a PIN number to access, make corrections and electronically sign the FAFSA. To obtain a PIN, please visit www.pin.ed.gov. To reduce processing time, we encourage students and parents to complete the FAFSA online. However, the paper version of this application may be obtained at www.fafsa.gov. The Emmanuel College Title IV Code is 002147.

IRS Data Retrieval Tool
When completing or updating the FAFSA, we strongly encourage you and your parents to use the FAFSA's IRS Data Retrieval Tool. This tool allows you and your parents to transfer 2012 tax information into the FAFSA and is available approximately two weeks after electronically filing your taxes, or six to eight weeks if you file via paper. If you and/or your parents are unable to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, you may need to request 2012 IRS Tax Return Transcripts, which may be requested at www.irs.gov or 800-908-9946.

Returning Students

To apply for financial aid for the 2013-2014 academic year, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
is required. The priority filing date for returning students is March 1, 2013.

The 2013-2014 FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov after January 1, 2013. The Emmanuel College Title IV Code is 002147. In order to complete the FAFSA online, both student and parent require a PIN number to access, make corrections and electronically sign the FAFSA. To obtain a PIN, please visit www.pin.ed.gov.

When completing or updating the FAFSA, we strongly encourage you and your parents to use the FAFSA's IRS Data Retrieval Tool provided.

Verification
Verification is a process by the federal government in which the federal processor randomly selects student's FAFSA information to be verified. You will be notified by the Emmanuel College OSFS if you have been selected for verification.

If you have been selected for verification, you and your family will be required to complete The Emmanuel College Verification Worksheet (available through MySaints) and use the FAFSA's IRS Data Retrieval Tool which transmits tax information from your tax return to the FAFSA. If you and/or your parents are unable to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool, you will need to request 2012 IRS Tax Return Transcripts, which may be requested at www.irs.gov or 800-908-9946.

You may fax the Emmanuel College Verification Worksheet and/or tax transcript to our office at 617-735-9939, or you may mail them to:
