It is the mission of the Office of Counseling to maintain a competent and professional atmosphere designed to assist the emotional, physical, psychological, and personal growth of all traditional undergraduate students. The Counseling Center serves the mission of the college by collaborating with various departments to reach out to diverse student populations and to help students' lead effective lives. We aim to help facilitate healthy development and empower the individual to attain greater self-understanding and academic success. We serve our mission by providing the best possible mental health and wellness services.
We operate our department in a respectful and professional manner. The mental health counseling one receives here is private and confidential, within the limits of the law. These limits include cases of life-threatening emergencies, hospitalization, and imminent danger to one self or others. No information is released outside of the Counseling Center without explicit permission from the student, unless the student communicates verbally or in written form that he or she is a danger to oneself or others. A student may request in writing, that the Counseling Center staff release specific information about his or her counseling to persons he or she designates. In some circumstances, at the discretion of the Director, the student's family may be notified if hospitalization is required.

Campus Response Team
The Campus Response Team is comprised of Campus Safety, Health Services, the Counseling Center and Residential Life. Members of the team are on call 24 hours a day.
