Dan Darcy
Associate Dean of Students and Director of Student Activities
A native of Fall River, Massachusetts, Dan received both his Master of Education in Counseling with a concentration in Student Personnel Services and his Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Speech Communication from Bridgewater State College. Prior to coming to Emmanuel in 2001, Dan was the Assistant Director for Orientation and Greek Life at Bridgewater State College. Before that, he was the Director of Residence Life and Housing at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Prior to that, he served as an Area Director of Residence Life/Assistant to the Dean of Students at the University of Tampa.
As the Associate Dean of Students, Dan is responsible for the overall management of the Office of Student Activities and Multicultural Programs. He works directly with the Student Government Association, New Student Orientation, Leadership Programs and clubs and organizations.
He also holds membership in the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), Sigma Phi Epsilon National Fraternity, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, Phi Pi Delta Fraternity (past President), the Order of Omega National Greek Leadership Honor Society and is the past President of the Bridgewater State College Alumni Association.
Damita Davis
Director of Multicultural Programs/Associate Director of Student Activities
A native of Providence, Rhode Island, Damita received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Rhode Island. In 1997, Damita received her Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and in 2002 she received a Master of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in College Student Personnel.
As Director of Multicultural Programs, Damita is responsible for the development of diversity programs and initiatives for students on campus. She also conducts training for Resident Assistants and Orientation Leaders. In addition, Damita is the coordinator of the Southern Africa Service Trip and the college’s diversity lecture series, Through the Wire.
Damita is the advisor for the Black Student Union and program advisor for Asian Student Association, Cape Verdean Student Association, H.U.E.L.L.A.S (Helping Unite Emmanuel Latinos to Lead and Achieve Success, and Rainbow Connection. She also serves as the program advisor for one-third of all SGA recognized clubs/organizations and the faculty advisor to the Emmanuel circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, National Leadership Honor Society.
Damita is a member of the American College Personnel Association (ACPA), National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) and is founder and President of African American Women in Higher Education-New England.
Kevin Farrell
Assistant Director of Student Activities
Kevin is the Assistant Director of Student Activities through the Office of Student Activities and Multicultural Programs here at Emmanuel College. As Assistant Director, Kevin has the opportunity to coordinate the leadership programming on campus which includes; Emmanuel College's Leadership Academy, Access Leadership, Omicron Delta Kappa, and the Leadership Summit. He also advises 1/3 of the student organizations, Dance Marathon and Campus Activities and Student Events. Kevin oversees the operations of Corner Pocket, Emmanuel's game room located in St. Joseph's Hall and serves as the head coach for the Emmanuel College Cheerleading squad.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric and Writing from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith in Fort Smith, AR and his Master of Science in College Student Personnel from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR. He was born and raised in the Scranton, PA area and most recently comes to us from Lafayette, IN where he worked with transition and success programs as an Assistant Director at Purdue University. For fun, Kevin enjoys watching movies, listening to music, hanging out with friends, and making people laugh. He looks forward to developing strong leaders on Emmanuel's campus and showing each student their potential. His office is located in the basement of St. Ann's, so please feel free to come by and say hello.
Denise Rugman
Administrative Assistant
Denise has the Administrative Assistant for the Dean of Students, Office of Student Activities and Multicultural Programs, and Residence Life and Housing since 2007. She is currently a candidate for a Bachelor of Science at Emmanuel in Business and Management. She resides in Hanover, MA with her husband and two kids.
