Benjamin Mathews
Ben Mathews reigns from the great state of Pennsylvania, where he resides in the city of York. This is his first year being both a member of the Resident Assistant staff as well as living on the first floor of St. Annes (he previously lived on the second floor of Loretto Hall during his freshmen year). Ben participates in a number of campus activities, predominately the Emmanuel College Men's Volleyball team. He is also an assistant in the Office of Student Activities and Multicultural Programs. During the summer, Mathews stays active in his Biochemistry major by doing research with Dr. Price. Besides being a familiar face on campus, Ben enjoys eating at his favorite restaurant, the Gourmet Dumpling House in Chinatown, and watching the latest movies at the theater on Brookeline.
Back to TopCarlo Fierimonte
Carlo Fierimonte is from Watertown (aka H20 town) Massachusetts just 20 minutes from Boston. This is his first year as a Resident Assistant, but has two summers as a Housing Assistant under his belt. Majoring in biology with a concentration in neuroscience Carlo hopes to one day be a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. On campus Carlo works in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a student work study and Admissions Ambassador, as well as works the front desk of St. Joes resident hall where he greats every resident with a smile. Being the treasure of Emmanuel College's Biology Club, he tries to get others to view the wonders of biology through various activities' and events. As a transfer to Emmanuel in 2009 getting involved was a key goal of Carlo's, so he created the Transfer Student Association to help transfer students get involved and feel like EC is their place. One of his favorite quotes is: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." -Wayne Gretzky
Back to TopNicole Haynes
Nicole Shanelle Haynes is from Randolph, MA. This is her second year as a resident assistant and her first time being a resident assistant in St. Ann's residence hall. Her major is sociology with a concentration in social justice and inequality. She also minors in Africana studies. She is the vice president of the Black Student Union on campus, is involved in Spark the Truth (a community service group) and was an orientation leader for the class of 2015. One random fact about her is that she was born and raised in Atlanta, GA and loves to visit there often.
Back to TopCynthia Sperl
Cynthia Sperl is from Chatham New York. This is her second year as a Resident Assistant in St. Ann Hall. She is a secondary education and mathematics major. On campus, Cynthia is involved in ECCO, Emmanuel College Superfans and Math Club. She can't wait to work with her staff and get to know all her residents.
Back to TopAshley Almeida
Ashley Almeida is a Junior from Fall River, MA. This is her first year as an RA, and she is really excited to start. She is a Psychology major with a minor in Management, as well as a Research Assistant in the Psychology Department. She is also involved in intramural soccer and the L.E.A.D.E.R.S program on campus. Ashley wanted to become an RA to help her peers get the best experience possible during their time at Emmanuel.
Back to TopCynthia Sperl
Cynthia Sperl, also known as Cyndi, is from Chatham, New York. She is Sophmore at Emmanuel and intends on majoring in Secondary Education and Mathematics. Cyndi is a member of the Emmanuel Softball Team. She is also involved with Emmanuel College Superfans and Education Club. This is Cyndi's first year as an RA and she is very excited to work with her floor and the RA staff.
Back to TopJulie Young
Julie Young is from Derry, New Hampshire. As an incoming senior, she is excited to spend her last year at Emmanuel as a returning Resident Assistant in St. Ann Hall. Julie is majoring in Biology with a concentration in Neuroscience and while she has a love for science, it is the time she has spent with friends, residents, and teammates that she has enjoyed most about her college experience so far. Julie has been a member of the EC cross country, indoor, and outdoor track and field teams and was happy to have joined the Residence Life and Housing team as an RA last year. Outside of Emmanuel, Julie is an accomplished figure skater and enjoys spending time on the ice whenever she has the chance.
Back to TopAnne Settle
Annie Settle is from Watertown, CT, but grew up in Northern Virginia. She is no stranger to major/minor confusion and is currently trying to study English, psych and sociology while still graduating on time. She has found inspiration through volunteer programs such as ESL tutoring and Habitat for Humanity, as well as running. To be honest, the only reason she runs outside of cross-country season is to search for inspiration in the city. She's a sucker for any and all kinds of adventure, animals friendly or otherwise, and good conversation.

"You are not here merely to make a living. You are here in order to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, and you impoverish yourself if you forget the errand."
