Common Ground

Common Ground is a faith sharing group for students who wish to share their experiences about their relationship with God and their spiritual journeys.  In a confidential atmosphere of listening, dialogue, confidentiality and prayer, people share their experiences and receive the sharing of others without judgment.   Central to the group is the belief that each person is honored and loved by God and that God is present and active in all our lives.  Through sharing and support we seek a better understanding of our own spiritual journeys.

Spiritual Meditation

Spiritual meditation helps one to relax and be fully awake to the Now moment and the beauty and potential that it holds. It helps the person to listen deeply to their innermost self and thus be available and attentive to God.

Verbum et Vita ~ Word and Life:
Weekly Scripture Reflection

It is important that students have the opportunity to come together to pray and reflect on the bible. It is through the bible that we can find a blueprint for living the Christian life. At Emmanuel, we give our students the opportunity to reflect and discuss what it means to be faithful. Our students are encouraged to be ethical decision-makers and responsible members of the community.

Seasonal Celebrations

During the Advent and Lenten seasons, special services are offered for students, faculty and staff to allow for spiritual reflection and prayer. Included are such services as Interfaith Thanksgiving Prayer Service, Mass for Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mass of Reconciliation, Stations of the Cross, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Vigil.

Ethics Conversations

Ethics Conversations is a discussion group comprised of students, faculty and staff. The conversation topics are from current events, controversial questions and issues relevant to college students in the light of ethical decision-making and the Catholic academic tradition.

Faith Alive!

Faith Alive! is a monthly guest speaker series which attempts to integrate service and spirituality. Speakers share their experiences in various types of service and how spirituality and faith are an essential part of their ministries. This is integrated into 8:00 pm Liturgy.
