Emmanuel Athletics 'Freshman of the Year'
Coming from a small town in Virginia, I was originally worried that attending college in a city would be a huge change. But there was something about Emmanuel that just made me feel at ease. There’s a real sense of community within the campus gates—it’s like an oasis in the middle of Boston. For someone like me who has always lived in the country, that’s very reassuring.
Playing on the Saints’ volleyball team has also been an important step in my transition into college life. Meeting other students with similar interests is what college is about, and my teammates have been so welcoming. Being able to make connections while playing the sport I love has been a great experience. It’s nice to know I can find a place so far from where I grew up that still feels like home.
