Land Protection Specialist

After graduating from Emmanuel in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in an Individualized Major in Ecology, I attended Duke University, where I earned a Masters of Environment Management degree from the Nicholas School for the Environment and Earth Sciences.

I am now a Land Protection Specialist at the LandTrust for Central North Carolina, working with landowners to protect their land through voluntary conservation easements that remove the development and subdivision rights from a property. It's great to be able to say I do something I love and truly care about.

Emmanuel provided me with a wonderful education. The liberal arts background provided me with the broad base of knowledge I needed for graduate school and my career. And the College gave me the opportunity to carve my own academic path through an individualized major. It takes a special place to allow its students the freedom to explore like Emmanuel allowed me.
