Dec. 28, 2007 :: The Emmanuel College women’s basketball team traveled to Beijing over winter break to play in exhibition games and experience the rich culture of China. Upon arrival in Beijing, signs in the lobby of the Holiday Inn Temple of Heaven welcomed the Saints to China.

Dec. 29, 2007 :: The Saints started their first full day in China with a two-hour practice at Guangcai Sports Center. Then it was back to the hotel to prepare for an afternoon of sightseeing.

Dec. 29, 2007 :: The first destination was the Forbidden City, known today as the National Palace Museum, which lies at the center of Beijing and is one of he most complete historical sites in all of China. Spanning a full square kilometer in size, it is the largest palace complex in the would, housing 9,999 buildings within its high wall.

Dec. 29, 2007 :: As the players completed their journey through the palace, they made their way to the street, directly across from Tiananmen Square. There they posed for a photo in front of the gigantic portrait of Mao overlooking the busy walkways of Beijing’s center.
