Terri Jabaley Leonarczyk has been a nurse educator and oncology clinical nurse specialist for over twenty years. For the past nine years, she has served as nursing faculty in associate and baccalaureate programs and has taught in both traditional and accelerated formats. She is currently a PhD candidate in nursing at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell. She was awarded the Promise for Nursing Regional Faculty Fellowship for doctoral study from the National Student Nurses Association in 2008. Her research focuses on genomics and her dissertation study is "The Experience of Cancer Risk Management Decision Making for BRCA+ Women." She presented her pilot study at the International Society of Nurses in Genetics in 2010. She recently co-authored two chapters in "Accelerated Education in Nursing: Challenges, Strategies, and Future Directions." She is a member of the National League for Nursing, The International Society of Nurses in Genetics (ISONG), and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing.
