Scholarships & Financial Aid

For financial aid purposes, the 2012-2013 academic year begins with the Summer 2012 courses and concludes with the Spring 2013 courses. To apply for financial aid, the following applications are required:

1. Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
The 2012-2013 FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.gov. In order to complete, make corrections to, or electronically sign the FAFSA online, the student is required to have a Federal PIN. To obtain a PIN (or request a duplicate if the original PIN has been misplaced), please visit www.pin.ed.gov.

When completing or updating the FAFSA, we strongly encourage students to use the IRS Data Retrieval tool provided on the FAFSA.  If not, you may be required to request 2011 tax transcripts from the IRS.  You will receive notification from the Office of Student Financial Services if additional information is required to determine your eligibility for financial aid.

Emmanuel College's Federal School Code is 002147.

**If applying for financial aid to be used in the Spring 2 session, students must complete a 2011-2012 FAFSA and a 2011-2012 Emmanuel College Application for Financial Aid.  A copy of the Emmanuel College Application may be requested from the Office of Student Financial Services.

Deadlines

Typically students begin the application process for financial aid in January or February prior to the academic year in which they wish to receive assistance. Because students may be accepted and begin courses at various times throughout the academic year, financial aid applications may be submitted through March of the end of the academic year.  All required documentation, however, must be received at least two weeks prior to the end of the semester in which the student is applying for aid.  Failure to do so may result in the application not being processed, and the student being financially responsible for any charges on the account.

Please note: To be considered for financial aid from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, your FAFSA must be received by the federal processor no later than May 1 prior to the start of the academic year. While you may still apply for financial aid after this deadline, you will only be considered for federal sources of financial aid.
