The Department of Theology and Religious Studies recently inducted 8 students into the Theta Alpha Kappa honor society.

Students in Professor Sydnor’s Chinese Religion class recently had the opportunity to participate in a Qigong (Tai Chi) class led by Xuan Yun, a Daoist priest who trained at Wudang Mountain in China.

- Professors Johnston and Vidaurrazaga recently presented papers at a conference in Trento, Italy entitled Catholic Ethics in a World Church.
- In 2008 Professor Ann Wetherilt’s class Religion and the Environment started a recycling program at Emmanuel.
- In 2009, for his class on the first five books of the Bible, Professor Thomas Leclerc held a seder (Passover) supper.
- In 2009, students from Laurie Johnston’s First Year Seminar on Ethics, Religion, & AIDS presented a teach-in for the Emmanuel community on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1.
