Crime & Justice Concentration

B.A. in Sociology with a Concentration in Crime and Justice

The Crime and Justice concentration will prepare students for graduate and professional school and the world of work. With this degree, students can pursue careers in law enforcement, the courts and corrections on the local, national and international level, as well as master's degrees and doctoral work in criminology, criminal justice, forensics or law.

Required courses for the concentration in crime and justice:

SOC 2101 - Criminology
SOC 2203 - Crime and Justice

Three electives must be chosen from the following:
SOC 2105 - Race, Ethincity, and Group Relations
SOC 2127 - Social Class and Inequality
SOC 3103 - Advanced Quantitative Reasearch Models
SOC 3203 - Organized Crime: A Sociological Exploration of Mobs, Gangs and Cartels
SOC 3205 - Crimes Against Humanity
