A Midsummer Night's Dream

A Midsummer Night's Dream

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a romantic comedy by William Shakespeare. The story of Midsummer involves two sets of couples (Hermia and Lysander, and Helena and Demetrius) whose romantic paths cross and are complicated further by their entrance into the play's fairyland woods where they encounter two very different groups of characters. The first is a band of fairies, including Oberon, the fairy king, and Titania, his queen. The second is a band of Athenian craftsmen rehearsing a play that they hope to perform for the duke and his bride. As the play unfolds it illustrates that Love triumphs in the end and there is pleasure in Dreaming the Impossible Dream.
