Mirtha Crisóstomo is an Associate Professor of Management at Emmanuel College. She has dedicated most of her adult life to advancing the concept of economic parity for immigrants and under-represented students through the individual acquirement of life-long education. Her research has primarily focused on the educational and social issues of immigrant, college students who have limited English proficiency.

Professional Highlights
Mirtha has also served as a Fellow and a member of the Board of Directors to the New England Center for Inclusive Teaching (NECIT) and a senior researcher at the CUNY-Dominican Institute. Her teaching has been recognized through her nomination for the K. Patricia Cross Future Leaders Award, and was the recipient of Emmanuel College's Faculty Excellence-in-Teaching Award. Mirtha's involvement with students expands beyond the classroom. In 2009 she received the Impact Award. This award is presented by the Office of Student Activities and Multicultural Programs for significant and noteworthy contributions to the co-curricular life at Emmanuel College.
At Emmanuel Mirtha has taught the capstone courses-Strategy and Internship and Introduction to Business. She has also taught in the First-Year Program.
