Her research interests include the knowledge base for teaching among mathematics faculty in higher education and the teaching and learning of calculus.

Professional Highlights
Dr. Kimberly S. Sofronas is a graduate of the Integrated Bachelor's / Master's Teacher Education Program at the University of Connecticut. She continued her studies at the University of Connecticut and completed a Ph.D. in mathematics education in 2004. Kimberly is a licensed 9-12 teacher of mathematics in Massachusetts and taught for several years in the Greater Boston area. She was also an instructor of mathematics at both the University of Hartford and Bentley College prior to joining the faculty at Emmanuel College in 2004. She is currently a member of the Department of Education at Emmanuel and her primary pedagogical focus is on the development of K-12 preservice teachers of mathematics.
