Why Give

Your Dollars in Action

Your gift makes an immediate difference, no matter how much you are able to contribute. Just think...

“Not many undergraduate students get to have the experience that I have had. It has provided me opportunities in the field that I never thought possible."

Medical Student,
Harvard Medical School

Every student who takes chemistry uses a volumetric flask. With up to 140 students, both science majors and non-majors, enrolling in chemistry each semester, that's a lot of flasks! This is just one of the many pieces of equipment that is used in the Maureen Murphy Wilkens Science Center's state-of-the-art labs.

"Competing in athletics has helped me maintain a balance in my collegiate life and given me a vested interest in my education.”

Jordan Coulombe ’12

Student-Athlete, Men’s Indoor and Outdoor Track

With 17 Division III athletic teams, including the newly added men's and women's lacrosse programs, Saints pride continues to reach new heights! At Emmanuel, we believe our athletic programs shape individual growth with strong intercollegiate competition and high academic standards. On average, we buy new uniforms for a third of our teams each year. Your gift can help ensure a student-athlete is ready for competition and to represent Emmanuel.

"As an Emmanuel student I have had many opportunities to serve locally and nationally. It has made me appreciate the value of service."

Jessica Pierre-Paul '11
Take48 participant, Four-year community service volunteer

Service is the backbone of the Emmanuel experience. Every fall, first-year students have the opportunity to participate in the Take48 Retreat, allowing them to reflect on the "goodness of God" and discern their place in college and in life. It lays the foundation for four years of reflection and faith intertwined with a global perspective. Participants become part of the larger Take48 community and participate in social, spiritual and service opportunities throughout their years at Emmanuel. This is a gift with remarkable outcomes both for Emmanuel students and those in the greater community who will be touched by the generosity of their spirit and service.

"Studying the sciences at Emmanuel provided me with the necessary guidance and support totake the next step toward medical school."

Medical Assistant, Division of Plastic Surgery, Brigham and Women's Hospital

Our science courses are preparing a new generation of students for graduate and medical schools and careers in high-growth fields. A $500 gift to the Annual Fund is a contribution that helps propel our students into the highly competitive fields of science, technology and health care.
