Jane Chaffin Kausel '44 Charitable Bequest
After graduating from Emmanuel in 1944, Jane Chaffin attended Yale University's graduate school of nursing where she met and later married the love of her life, Harvey Kausel.
Always grateful for her Emmanuel education and the wonderful relationships she established with her classmates, Jane and Harvey chose to remember Emmanuel through a charitable bequest. Read more »
The Dorothy Lenihan McQuillan '50 Scholarship
Education has long been a cornerstone of Dot Lenihan McQuillan's family. Her father and mother instilled the importance of education and made many sacrifices so their children could attend such institutions as Emmanuel College.
So, when her son Bill McQuillan began exploring ways to honor his parents, he decided to make a generous gift and establish the Dorothy Lenihan McQuillan '50 Scholarship for City of Boston Students due to his mother's love for Emmanuel College and the realization that such a gift would make a significant impact. The Ann Kathryn Kerwin Memorial Scholarship
On a beautiful autumn morning Ann Kathryn Kerwin, the six-year old granddaughter of Bob and Marianne (Maguire '56) Kerwin, was fatally struck by a car while walking to her first grade class.
To memorialize and celebrate Ann Kathyrn's life, Marianne and Bob established and endowed the Ann Kathryn Kerwin Memorial Scholarship at Emmanuel College so that Emmanuel students for many generations will be able to carry on Ann Kathryn's love of learning. For Marianne this is a particularly meaningful closing of the circle. She was enabled to attend college when, fifty-four years ago, Emmanuel awarded her a full four-year scholarship. Read more »
