Shamika coordinates our multicultural recruitment. She visits and reads applications for Northern New Jersey, Texas and Massachusetts (Boston public schools, areas west of Boston and the Worcester area).

What is your favorite thing about Emmanuel College?
I love the fact that it is a beautiful campus, right in the city.

What is your favorite thing to do in Boston?
I love going to the gardens or the commons, or just walking around anywhere in downtown Boston. It is a beautiful, pedestrian friendly city and there is plenty to do.

What is the one piece of advice you would give students who have been accepted to Emmanuel?
Breathe a sigh of relief and be happy. High school is almost over and you got into a school that will give you plenty of opportunities to be successful.
Come back and visit. Now that all the tension caused by waiting on a letter in the mail is gone, and it is a very real possibility that you could be attending the school, look at the school with a new set of eyes. Most of it is up to you now.

What is the most exciting aspect of working in Admissions?
I love travelling and meeting interesting students. I am also very interested in education. My job gives me a chance to see what kind of job high schools are doing preparing their students, and I also get to see what's going on on the higher education side of things.
