In addition to applying for need-based financial aid, most families draw from a variety of sources to pay for an Emmanuel education. Some of the options available to assist you with the cost of your Emmanuel education may include:
Monthly Interest-Free Payment Plan
Emmanuel College offers a monthly interest-free payment plan through Tuition Management Systems, Inc (TMS). The plan offers families the opportunity to spread payments for the academic year over a 10-month period. There is an enrollment fee of $65 to enroll in the 10-month plan, or a $50 enrollment fee for a 5-month plan . The fall semester payment plan begins in July and ends in November, and the spring payment plan begins in December and concludes in April.
Parent Loans
If your parent wishes to consider a loan to assist in covering the cost of educational expenses, there are programs available that offer fixed interest rates and the option to defer payments while you are enrolled in school at least half-time. The Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS Loan) and the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA) Undergraduate Loan are two parent loan options that many of our families borrow through.

Private Student Loans
Students are awarded a low-interest federal Stafford loan as part of their financial aid package, but if additional financing is needed you may consider borrowing through a private lender. Some factors to consider when choosing a lender include: interest rate, fees, co-signer release option and repayment period. The following private student loans may require a co-signer and may offer the option of deferring payments during enrollment: Citizens TruFit Loan, CitiAssist Loan and the MEFA Student Alternative Loan.
Private Scholarships
Scholarships are a great source of free money and help reduce the total cost of financing your education. Eligibility for private scholarships is based on academics, athletic skills, career interests or any of several other criteria. Possible sources include high schools, churches, local organizations, parent's place of employment or other clubs to which the family belongs. Most local libraries and high school guidance offices have scholarship books or websites. Please visit the Private Scholarships page of the Emmanuel website for more information, including scholarship tips.

Student Employment
Emmanuel College strives to assist students with educational costs and valuable work experience, by offering on- and off- campus part-time employment opportunities. On-campus employment opportunities are available in academic departments, the residence halls and in administrative offices such as the library and athletic offices.
All students who are eligible to work in the United States and have a valid Social Security Number are eligible to apply for on-campus positions, regardless of whether they are awarded Federal Work-Study (FWS). However, a limited number of off-campus partnerships are only available to students awarded FWS.
Our desirable Boston location affords students the opportunity to seek employment within a short walk from campus. Students are encouraged to visit the Internship and Career Development Office for information concerning nearby off-campus employment opportunities.
