Orientation will give you a taste of what life’s like at Emmanuel, but it’s up to you to explore all the opportunities – on campus, in the classroom and around town!
Meet Your Orientation Leaders
Orientation Leaders (OLs) are a select group of current students dedicated to welcoming you, answering questions and introducing you to everything Emmanuel. Once you’ve checked in, you will meet in small groups with your assigned OLs, who will serve as resources to you throughout Orientation and be familiar faces around campus when you return for the fall semester.
Meet Your Academic Advisor
Our Office of Academic Advising provides the support you need to attain your academic goals and helps you transition into life as a college student. Please note that you will need to complete your mathematics and language assessments (French or Spanish if you took either in high school) online before you arrive on campus for Orientation. Information will be sent to you via e-mail on May 1 with directions on how to complete these online assessments.
During Orientation, with assistance from your Academic Advisor, you will choose your course schedule for your first semester at Emmanuel. This is your opportunity to peruse our extensive liberal arts and sciences offerings and begin your journey toward a college degree. We recommend reviewing the Academic Catalog prior to arriving at Orientation to get a feel for what our academic programs offer.
Succeeding in the Classroom
The sense of community at Emmanuel is as much academic as it is social. Our goal as a liberal arts and sciences college is to develop your intellectual potential and to position you for success at the college level and beyond. Here you’ll be introduced to members of our faculty who will inform you about all the academic support that is available to you as an Emmanuel student.
A Day In The Life
Your OLs showcase their acting skills with these skits based on scenarios you may soon find yourself in as a college student. Whether it’s how to get involved with student activities, where to turn for academic help, or the ins and outs of getting around on the “T” – Boston’s public transportation system – the OLs will walk you through a day in the life of a typical Emmanuel student.
Get Connected
Here you'll learn about the College's website and MySaints - our internal communication system where you can find College news and announcements, Online Academic Resources, Student Financial Services information and applications in one convenient location. Information will be sent to you via e-mail by mid-May with directions on how to access your MySaints account before you arrive on campus for Orientation. In addition, you can connect with Emmanuel through social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Foursquare!
Student Resource and Employment Fair
What interests you? Is it Athletics? Study Abroad? Internships? Alternative Spring Break? Are you interested in working in the fall? It will all be on display at the Student Resource and Employment Fair. Staff members will be on hand to inform you about the opportunities available to you as an Emmanuel student. Offices include but are not limited to: Athletics, Bon Appétit (food service), Campus Ministry, Counseling Office, First-Year Experience, Internships and Career Development, Campus Safety, Information Technology, Residence Life and Housing, and Student Activities and Multicultural Programs.
Meet the Dean of Students
Before the conclusion of Orientation, you'll have the opportunity to meet Emmanuel's Dean of Students, Dr. Joe Onofrietti - a great resource for all our students. Through this interactive workshop, "Dr. Joe" will address Emmanuel's academic policies and procedures with the help of the OLs.
Student Financial Services
If you will be accepting your Federal Direct Stafford Loan offered as part of your financial aid award, it is recommended that you complete the Federal Stafford Loan online Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note.
During Orientation, however, staff members from the Office of Student Financial Services will be available to assist you with any questions. Stop by their office on the third floor of the Administration Building with any questions.

“When you come to Emmanuel, you can feel free to be yourself. There are plenty of opportunities to make the most of your time here.”
