Where will you live?
At Emmanuel you have the opportunity to live on a beautiful college campus, right in the heart of Boston. Where else can you play Frisbee on the quad and five minutes later be at the Museum of Fine Arts, a Red Sox game or taking "the T" to the North End for some delicious Italian food? Not only does living on campus allow you easy access to Boston, but also lets you immerse yourself in the Emmanuel community, whether it's hanging out with friends in your residence hall, attending student meetings in the Yawkey Center or meeting your study partner in the library. Everything is close by, and chances are you'll bump into several friends on the way there! It will only be a few days before you start referring to your room on campus as "home."
Our residence halls accommodate both first-year students and returning students. Some are co-ed throughout the building and others are co-ed by floor. All bathrooms are single-sex bathrooms. Each residence hall has an Assistant Director/Residence Director-a professional staff member-living in the hall. This person is responsible for the day-to-day management of the building and for creating an environment that will support an individual's growth and development. In addition, each hall has Resident Assistants, student leaders who live on the floors and are dedicated to supporting residents with their personal and academic concerns. All of the Residence Life and Housing staff are available as resources for students. For more information, visit our Residence Life & Housing site.
How will you find your roommate? Our online Housing Preference Questionnaire, available in late Spring 2013, helps us match the right roommates. The more honestly you complete it, the better your match is likely to be. If you already know the person you'd like to room with, each of you must put the other's name on your Housing Preference Questionnaire. We do our best to accommodate these requests, space permitting.
For those admitted for Fall 2013, you will be able to find the questionnaire here after May 1. As soon as your questionnaire and Housing License Agreement are received, we'll match you on a first-come, first-served basis. Residence Hall assignments will be sent to your Emmanuel email address by July 31, 2013.
Hungry? Dinner is only a few steps away! Living in our residence halls puts you close by our main dining hall in the Jean Yawkey Student Center, as well as the Atrium Café and Muddy River Café. We have a variety of food options to fit your appetite!
There are two meal plans offered by Bon Appétit Food Service. Plan A includes 15 meals a week and 95 flex dollars each semester. Plan B includes 19 meals a week and 25 flex dollars each semester. You're automatically enrolled in A, our most popular plan, unless you change it to B. You can use flex dollars instead of cash in our cafes and for guests.
