Real-World Experience

The internship program at Emmanuel College allows students to acquire course credit while working and learning in a professional environment. Students are able to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom in a work setting, thus enriching their learning experience. This experience is also regarded as invaluable in preparation for future careers.
Exposure to new careers.
Emmanuel College allows for variety and flexibility in the internship programs; college-sponsored internships, however, must be in learning environments that are not contradictory to the philosophy and mission of Emmanuel College. All students are sponsored by a faculty member from the department in which they are taking the internship. The faculty member maintains close contact with the student and internship site supervisor in order to offer support and advice throughout the program.
The responsibility of supervision at the site lies with the site supervisor. The Emmanuel faculty sponsor is available to both the student and the site supervisor for support and advice.
