Professional Writing Specialists and Writing Peer Tutors assist at any stage of the writing process-including organizing a paper, grammar, and how to use citations. The ARC also offers workshops focused on strengthening writing, research, and reading skills.
• You attend class, but still feel like you're missing info...

• You're taking a language, but aren't comfortable speaking it...
Peer Tutors are available to assist students in mastering course work and relevant study skills. They also facilitate study groups before major tests, and language tutors offer conversation tables.
• You're interested in attending grad school, but not sure where to begin...
• You aren't happy with your note taking technique...
• You are a chronic procrastinator...
The Academic Specialists help students develop effective strategies for time management, note taking, reading, and other skills necessary for college success. The ARC also offers academic strategy workshops throughout the semester, and ARC 0101: Strategies for Academic Success, a voluntary 6-week seminar available to freshmen.

• You are preparing for graduate school tests (GRE, LSAT, GMAT) and need assistance with the quantitative, logical or analytical reasoning sections...
ARC Specialists provide guidance with graduate school and continuing study applications and timelines and assist students in understanding the basic demands of graduate school exams.
The Math and Science Peer Tutors and a professional Math Specialist provide assistance to enhance students' understanding of math and science in their courses.
Services
Disability Support Services
The ARC works closely with Disability Support Services to provide comprehensive academic support for students with documented disabilities.
The Writing Center offers professional and peer tutors for individual attention in organizing and producing effective written work.
Academic Counselors work individually with students experiencing difficulty in their courses to develop learning strategies for success in these courses.
Peer Tutors are recommended by professors and trained by ARC staff. They are available to assist students in mastering course work and relevant study skills.
Study Groups are facilitated by peer tutors and are scheduled as needed to aid students in preparing for major tests and exams.
Graduate School Materials include grad school entrance exam booklets, applications and timelines, vocabulary study guides and software, and test prep software for the GRE, GMAT and LSAT.
Graduate Exam Preview Workshops are offered to provide familiarity with the basic demands of graduate school exams such as the GRE, GMAT, MCAT and LSAT.
Speech and Presentation Techniques can be enhanced by working with a Speech Peer Tutor who will model and coach more effective communication styles and methods.
Workshops on varied topics are offered upon request.
