Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Sr. Janet Eisner, SND
Sr. Janet Eisner, SND, one of the most accomplished and influential women in education in America, celebrates her 30th anniversary as President of Emmanuel College this year. Sr. Janet is the longest currently serving woman college president in the country and her tenure at Emmanuel has been marked by innovative and bold decision-making, an unwavering commitment to mission, and a passion for educating students in the Catholic liberal arts and sciences tradition.
Since the College's decision to become coeducational in 2000, enrollment has more than tripled and today, Emmanuel is a vibrant community of 1,750 traditional undergraduates and 700 students in the graduate and professional programs. Over the last decade in particular, Emmanuel has established a partnership with Merck Research-Laboratories-Boston and opened the Jean Yawkey Center and the Maureen Murphy Wilkens Science Center.
