Support Emmanuel in the ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

September 25, 2012
As part of this year's Family Weekend events, Emmanuel College Community Outreach (ECCO) will sponsor a walk team in the American Cancer Society's 2012 Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk along the Charles River on Sunday, October 14th. The group is currently looking for interested students and families as well as those willing to donate to the cause.
Emmanuel has a long history in supporting the walk, as student organizations and athletic teams have volunteered during the event over the years. This year, members of ECCO established a goal of raising $2,000 for the cause. Suggested donations are $5-$10 for individuals and $15-$50 for families. Donations from non-participants are also welcome.
The full walk is five miles with a two-mile option for families and students who wish to return to Emmanuel's campus for the 11:00 a.m. Family Liturgy. The team will meet in the Jean Yawkey Center at 7:15 a.m. the day of the walk and travel to the DCR Hatch Shell together. All participants will receive a t-shirt for supporting the cause.
