Mulvaney Leadership Institute to Host Open House

February 06, 2013

The Mulvaney Leadership Institute (MLI) will host an open house on Monday, February 11th, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the newly renovated Auditorium in the Administration Building. The MLI was founded in 2008 through an endowment from Eleanor Mulvaney Seamans '71 to provide leadership training and development for faculty, students and academic administration at the College. Mulvaney Seamans and Rana Chudofsky, director of the Education Initiative at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, will be the featured speakers at the event, which will also include networking opportunities, resource tables, prizes and light refreshments. All members of the College community are encouraged to attend.

The open house is designed to introduce the Emmanuel community to the opportunities available through the Institute for the development of the skills necessary for ethical and effective teaching and learning. Drawing from the Sisters of Notre Dame's historic commitment to serving as "contemplatives in action," it is the mission of the MLI to provide and integrate community-wide opportunities and programs at Emmanuel that support leadership development toward the empowerment of others and the common good.

The Mulvaney Leadership Institute strives to be the preeminent leadership institute. By developing and fostering effective and ethical leaders through the integration of values-based and ethics education, mindfulness and contemplation, and systems-thinking habits, the Institute seeks to provide a foundation for transformative leadership practices as a way to prepare Emmanuel's students for rewarding lives and to develop the College's faculty, staff and administrators to effectively lead and empower others to move Emmanuel College to the next level.

Please RSVP by Thursday, February 7th, to leadership@emmanuel.edu.
