Dr. Martin Offers Insight on Middle Eastern Relations in New York Times

Wyant Professor and Professor of Political Science Lenore Martin is currently featured in The New York Times "Room for Debate" section, which invites contributors to discuss timely issues and events. Dr. Martin is one of four debaters discussing "Why Turkey Turned Away from Syria," each offering an opinion on what the shift in relations between Turkey and countries like Syria and Iran means for the region.

A preeminent scholar in Middle Eastern studies, Dr. Martin also serves as a Research Associate of the Center for Middle Eastern Studies and an Associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, both at Harvard University, where she co-chairs the Middle East Seminar and Seminar on Turkey in the Modern World. She served as a Senior Research Fulbright Scholar in Ankara, Turkey, during the spring 2010 semester, conducting research at Middle East Technical University.
