Emmanuel College Radio Named National Finalists

EC Radio has been designated a finalist for the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System's 2013 National Awards in the following categories:
Best Live Music Broadcast for Colby Rich's '16 weekly show "Saturdays @ 7."
Best Radio Drama for Scott Gagnon and the Mystery Radio Theatre's production of the "Halloween Special (Episode 3)."
Best Documentary for Joe Horgan's '13 "Growing Pains."
The Intercollegiate Broadcast System is a non-profit organization that supports both terrestrial and internet college stations and has approximately 1000 members nationwide. This year's winners will be announced at the 73rd Annual IBS Conference, which will take place March 1st-3rd in New York City.
Founded in 2005, EC Radio currently boasts 75 DJs broadcasting more than 63 hours of radio programming each week, providing the community of students, faculty and administrators of Emmanuel with a means to share their voices and ideas with the rest of the College community, as well as with listeners from the West Coast and from as far as South America, the Middle East and Australia. The station broadcasts a diverse range of music, opinion, lecture and news programming that covers life at Emmanuel College and the Greater Boston area. The station, under direction of Assistant Professor of English Lisa Falvey, recently garnered the second-place title for "Best College Radio Station" by WGBH's Boston A-List.
