Topic: Racism and the Culture of Denial

Tim Wise, one of the most prominent anti-racist writers and activists in the country, was the guest speaker for the Through the Wire lecture series on Tuesday, October 2nd. Wise discussed the topic, "But Some of My Best Friends Are Black: Racism and the Culture of Denial" in the Janet M. Daley Library Lecture Hall.
Wise is the author of White Like Me: Reflections on Race from a Privileged Son and Affirmative Action: Racial Preference in Black and White, and has provided anti-racism training to government, corporate, entertainment and military groups.
