Emmanuel's "Company" held for consideration by Kennedy Center Theatre Festival

May 02, 2007
Emmanuel College’s Performing Arts Department and the Theatre Guild have been held for consideration by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and nominated for “Outstanding Overall College Theatre Production of 2007” in the New England Region for their production of “Company.” This marks the third time in the past five years that an Emmanuel theatre production has been held for award consideration.
Three Emmanuel students received individual honors by being nominated for the Irene Ryan Excellence in Acting Award, given to students in recognition of distinction in academic theatre. The students chosen were Ryan Hunt, Julie H. D’Alessandro and Alyson Trank.
Additionally, Assistant Professor of English and Performance Arts Scott Gagnon, who directed the show, has been invited to direct one of the 10 minute plays in recognition of outstanding work as a faculty director.
In the fall, five of the honored colleges will be selected for an encore performance at the festival, which will be held at Fitchburg State College in January 2008.
